World Biophysics Week is to acknowledge Biophysics as a rather modern field of science aiming to understand the real nature of living systems through the laws of physics in a more realistic manner.

Scientific and technological developments at the end of 20 century made it possible to have higher temporal and spatial resolution of the biological events at timescales of femtoseconds and angstrom respectively. To make the achievements even more exciting fabrication of ultrasensitive biosensors, measurement of the forces of Pico Newton by Atomic force Microscopes (AFM), molecular manipulation by Optical Tweezers, thermodynamic and spectroscopic analysis and recording of the biological responses to minute electromagnetic fields by Field Effect Transistors (FET) revealed the detailed nature of living systems at cellular, molecular and even atomic scales that was manifested by laws of physics in real time. Computational Biophysics also played its significant role in completing the shortcomings of experimental studies, merging theoretical, basic, and hypothetical findings with experimental ones in a logical and correlated manner. 

Now, in the beginning of the 21st century, the promising results of biophysical analysis of activities of cells as well as structures and dynamics of their constituent molecules brings us the hope of better understanding  of drug side effects and non-chemical treatments of diseases, finding the effects of different magnetic, electric and electromagnetic fields,  control and tackling with pathogenic microorganisms in a more effective non-chemical manner and learning about brain and its activity, consciousness, memory and possibly status of life.

World Biophysics Week, wisely defined by the American Biophysical Society, is a good opportunity to familiarize people with Biophysics, its concepts, capabilities and applications and draw the attention of those who are interested, talented and dedicated enough to put Biophysical approaches for making a better live on Earth for every living systems.

Following our previous years successful Biophysics gatherings, we are pleased to announce IBB-WB2023 as a hybrid events, and cordially invite you to attend the in-person or virtual sessions, in order to complement the expertise of each other for the sake of better life through finding yet even more efficient biophysical solution to the corresponding problems we are facing on the globe.
