World Biophysics Week that was established in 2016 by the American Biophysical Society (ABS), is an annual global event to familiarize people with Biophysics, celebrate relevant scientific achievements, and establish connections between scholars and the biophysical communities. Accordingly, March 22-26, has been promulgated by the ABS as 2021 Biophysics Week when more than 20 leading universities and research centers from dozens of different countries will participate.
The Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics (IBB) of University of Tehran, along with the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN), is also dedicated to Biophysics and like previous years collaborates with the ABS to hold the event during a three-day virtual conference on March 14-16, 2021 followed by a one day International Symposium during announced World Biophysics Week, on March 25th aiming to further insist and elaborate on the importance of biophysical education and research to save the life in the world.
During the above meetings, in addition to scientific lectures and discussions, the latest achievements, though biophysical approaches in various fields including medicine, basic sciences, engineering, environmental and agricultural sciences, etc., will be presented. Furthermore, the potential opportunities as well as indigenous needs for research and possible curriculum modification in this area will be discussed. A poster session to present, elaborate and justify "Novel Biophysical Ideas" will also be held, as part of the Biophysics Week event in order to create a suitable environment for the birth of innovative ideas in students and young researchers active in the field. We try to pave the path for international cooperation to meet global challenges through biophysical approaches and also to establish a unique platform for scientific networking to facilitate the national as well as international collaborations with researchers who have brilliant track records in the field.
Students and graduates with different backgrounds in biological, clinical, engineering, pharmaceutical, environmental and basic sciences and related disciplines as well as all biophysics enthusiasts are all welcome and invited to attend the virtual congress with no registration fees required.
